Lush Retread

It's no secret that I love my Lush products. But as I wandered around the store the other week I realised that I hadn't yet tried any of the Lush haircare products. After chatting with one of the very friendly girls from the Chadstone store, we worked out that I was after something very moisturising - and came to the decision that Retread sounded best for me.

My hair is quite dry towards the ends, due to colouring and heat styling - but I also find that if I use the right products my hair has a fabulous way of repairing itself easily and really responds to moisturising treatments and products. Retread is packed full of goodies such as Soya Milk, Melon, Yoghurt and Jojoba Oils. It's described as Lush's "deluxe, triple strength" conditioner, which are the exact words that sold me when the saleswoman was telling me all about it. Sometimes I really need that rich, deluxe moisture to set my hair back to it's healthy state.

The formula is surprisingly not as thick as I thought it was going to be, but it is still thicker than your average conditioner. The directions say to apply this after you shampoo your hair, every time. You can also use this as a hair mask - just leave it on for 20-30 minutes before you step into the shower.

I found that after using Retread my hair was more manageable and less tangled. My hair has been knotting terribly for some reason lately, but after using this I don't have to struggle getting a comb through afterwards - Yippee! I've noticed on other reviews of this product some negative comments about the smell of Retread. I personally quite like the smell and find it to be fresh. It smells a little seaweedy, but if you're into those clean/ocean type smells then you're not going to mind this at all.

If you've been eyeing off the Retread conditioner, go for it. It's $23.50 for a 245g tub. It seems a little expensive but I've used this quite a few times all over my hair and you can see in the previous photo that I've hardly made a dent inside, so it's going to last me quite awhile. This is definitely one that I'm going to think about purchasing again.

What Lush hair products can you recommend for dry hair?

  1. I've got extremely dry ends from chemicals as well, and they get so ridiculously tangled, I am sometimes tempted to chop the whole bloody thing off. Will definitely try this out when I'm off my spending ban and have used up all my conditioners!

  2. I might have to try this! I have the exact problems you've mentioned and keep trying to find something that's good. I do love that Lush products last ages though - they seem expensive but they're really not!
