The Plum Lip is a look that I've been drooling over this week. Celebrities all over have rocked this look on the red carpet and it's been seen all over the fashion catwalks.

The great thing about wearing the plum lip is that you can tailor it to suit any occasion or mood. Feeling a little sexy? The above "vampy" look is a great way to bring out your inner seductress. Pair your plum lip with a subtle (or dramatic) smoky eye.

But remember, when recreating the vamp look, you don't want to take the look too far and end up actually resembling a vampire.

The plum lip can also be paired with a more neutral make up look as seen below.

When choosing to wear a darker lip, make sure that your lips are nicely moisturised. Darker shades will enhance chapped or dry lips so make sure you have a good lip balm or conditioner on hand.

Spend a little time swatching and trying out different shades of plum.
If you're not keen on a full-on dark shade, then try opting for a lighter shade.

It's a good idea to apply a similar coloured lip liner before you apply your chosen shade.

Most brands will have a matching lip liner for the chosen shade, so have a hunt around in store if that's where you have purchased.

If you have decided to buy online, have a play around with lip liners after you have received the lipstick so there is less of a chance of getting two totally different shades.
