Max Factor Clump Defy mascara

The Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara is one of the latest "false lash effect" mascaras to hit the shelves. It's described as a clump-free volumising mascara which evenly defines and separates lashes. I loved this mascara from the start. It really does lengthen, define and separate the lashes. As a contact lens/glasses wearer, I tend to have sensitive eyes, so I really look for a mascara that doesn't flake or smudge, both of which this mascara doesn't do.

The tightly packed, evenly spaced bristles on the brush help to stop clumps as the mascara is applied to the lashes. Although there is no doubt that this is a great mascara, I'm a little unsure if I like the look of perfectly separated lashes on my eyes. I don't know if it has that same 'false lash' look that other mascaras such as the Maybelline Falsies has. The Maybelline Falsies doesn't define the lashes as much and gives me a fuller looking lash finish. I do love wearing this on days when I want a more natural look and I don't want that dramatic lash look. The brush is perfect for getting into tight places and works wonders when trying to get mascara onto the bottom lashes.

I also noticed that as this mascara ages it tends to create a few clumps. You can see in the photos below that there are a few clumps on some of my lashes. I am guilty of leaving lids off previous mascaras to make them dry out a little (does anyone else hate wet mascaras?!) so they are easier to work with but this one was perfect from the start and seems a little harder to work with the older it gets.
