Lush Herbalism

Lush Herbalism is from skincare range at Lush. It's a beautiful, natural facial wash for those beauties with normal, oily and problem skin. It's super good for the skin with ingredients such as ground almonds, nettle, rosemary, rice vinegar extract, sage oil, chamomile oil and rose petals.

When you open the product you find that you're confronted with a tub of green, almost chalky, mixture. The mixture has a strong "herbal" scent that took me a little while to get used to. It smells clean and organic, but if you're not into scented products be wary before you give this product a go, because it can be quite strong.

It's a little tricky to work out the best way to use this product. The first thing you will notice is that the mixture is dry. I find the best way to use Herbalism is to take a small amount and put it either in the palm or on the back of your hand as seen below. A small amount goes a long way - the amount shown in the photo would be too much for my face, I would only need to use a much smaller amount.

Run a couple of your fingers from your other hand under a tap and sprinkle the water droplets over the mixture in the palm of your hand. You don't need it to be soaking wet and only a few droplets of water will be needed. Then begin to mash the mixture gently with your finger until it becomes a paste.

Once you have your paste, start to smooth it onto your skin. Another good way of getting it onto your skin with minimal mess is by rubbing your hands together and then applying it directly to the face just like a normal face cleanser. Massage the product into the face in gentle, circular motions all over the face and rinse with warm water.

I've been advised that this product isn't suitable for removing make-up so I make sure to go over my face with a make-up wipe to remove all traces of make-up before applying Herbalism to the face.

After using my face feels so soft and fresh. It helps reduce redness and blemishes and I have notice a fantastic difference in the mornings after using Herbalism. It's roughly $15.95 for 100g tub but you only need very small amounts at each time.

Have you ever tried Lush Herbalism? What did you think? xox

  1. I have never tried this one (dry/sensitive skin here!) but have tried another Lush cleanser, and to be honest I find them too difficult to work with. I like the concept, but I'm just too lazy ha ha! x
